Tilton system
The Tilton system, standard on the Family Cargo Bike, is a mechanism that controls the connection and steering of the front wheel, especially on three-wheel models. It ensures the bike remains stable, maneuverable, and safe, even when the cargo box is fully loaded. It works as follows:
The handlebars are connected to a Tilton coupling point on the front wheel frame.
When you turn the handlebars, the Tilton moves the front wheel or wheels to the correct angle.
The mechanism distributes the load forces across the frame, keeping the bike stable.
On three-wheel cargo bikes, the Tilton ensures a low center of gravity, even with heavy loads, preventing tipping.
